The Butterfly Yoga Flow

This is a wonderfully soothing song to help little ones transition into quiet time. Sing slowly, and quietly, just as if you were singing to a butterfly. It’s long been a favorite with every age group - we first introduce this with our babies and gently evolve the yoga movements to meet the developmental needs of toddlers, preschoolers and grown-up kids.

Before you begin, have your child close their eyes and imagine they are a butterfly - ‘what color are their wings?’, ‘what is their favorite flower?’. You could also hold colorful scarves as you sing.

To Start: sit in Butterfly Pose with the soles of your feet together and your knees open wide

(Hug your arms and legs in a tight cocoon)

(Stretch arms up high, and legs out in front)
